Delsie Khadem, Founder and CEO of VivaDiva Sports, has spent her adult life teaching mathematics to students ranging from 6th grade to university. Believing that all students can learn math, she has been working as a director in an academic program that serves under-represented students at the University of Colorado at Boulder where she earned both her BA and MA.

She has worked with hundreds of students and trained instructors to reach all students in the classroom. One of 6 children, Delsie grew up in Aurora, Colorado where she lead her classmates by participating in community-oriented clubs and the cross-country team. Although not an athletic champion, she was seen as a leader for her tenacious effort and enthusiasm. After college, Delsie continued to challenge herself taking the dance classes for which her parents could not afford to pay as a child, taking adult swim classes beginning with “doggie paddling” to compete in a triathalon, and finishing her first marathon in tears (of both joy and pain). Despite injuries, Delsie finds new challenges and has taken up yoga and shorter races and recently started belly dancing. “Fitness is my fuel for life. It allows me to challenge myself in ways that inspire me to believe that I can do anything I choose to, physical or otherwise. Physical health is an obvious benefit, but what activity does for my mental and emotional health is priceless.”After teaching for 2 years in Guatemala, inspired by the women in her life and passion for physical activity, she created a line of figure flattering sportswear for women--VivaDiva Sports. “Women deserve it,” Delsie says. “There's no reason why our sportswear shouldn't support who we are, and I'm doing something about it.”

Using the personal experiences of friends and family coupled with her mathematical abilities and precision, she began sketching her ideas. The result has been a wonderful success.Since the conception of the company, VivaDiva Sports has been working with non-profit organizations that support young people, especially girls. She believes in young women and the importance of their success and leadership. “One day our young girls will be the sisters we look to for leadership. We need to support them however we can.”Delsie continues to work with the students at CU Boulder and fuels the success of VivaDiva Sports. On any given day, you might find her working with math teachers and students, managing VivaDiva Sports, spending time with family, or running around Sloan's Lake near her home in Denver.
